Backups for everyone!

There are many reasons to develop the habit of making backups of the data from all our devices. From personal projects to photos and videos, and even the credentials that are comfortably 'saved' automatically in our most used browser, it is important to regularly perform some selection, and after this filtering, save what is important.

The World Backup Day initiative aims to raise awareness about how easy it is to lose our data. On its website, it reveals some facts such as 30% of people have never made a backup, 113 mobile phones are stolen or lost every minute worldwide, and 1 in 10 computers is infected by a virus once a month. Some say the choice of this date was not random, as the following day is April 1st, known as "April Fools", and by making a backup of our data, we might be avoiding becoming an "April Fool".

Due to the pandemic, where professionals started working from home en masse, regular backups done in the office decreased. Various IT companies in the United States and the United Kingdom have warned of a 28% increase in phishing, 25% malware, and 43% power failures. This is the perfect cocktail for serious problems to arise. Although backups do not prevent these attacks or failures, they are a solution to avoid greater losses, both financially and in terms of time.

Returning to the issue of credentials. It is very convenient to have our browser fill everything in automatically, but even this sensitive information can be securely protected. It is convenient to create control mechanisms for our personal information. These accidents and vulnerabilities are not limited to personal data, and when they occur in the professional sphere, many people may depend on or rely on our information and local development, which can harm the individual in question as well as the team or organization. If any sensitive information is leaked, the entire project can be compromised and remain in standby.

Regarding the professional level, backup is one of the most important concepts, and it must be done carefully and securely so that no information is stored in a place that can be easily compromised. There are several types of backup, with the one considered most secure and effective being cloud backup.

Backup is something simple, secure, and quick if we develop the habit of doing it frequently, according to our needs. It can prevent many concerns and serious problems, whether personally or professionally, and there are no downsides to this process as long as it is done responsibly and carefully. Despite the costs it may incur, the benefit in case of need is enormous.

In industrialized countries, we spend most of our time indoors. According to the National Human Activity Pattern Survey in the United States, we spend about 90% of our lives in enclosed environments, meaning that by the age of 40, we will have spent 36 years within four walls.

And there's nothing like the comfort of a hug from my child while I work.

As children return to school and daycare, one of the issues that arises is the coordination between parents' work schedules and their children's school schedules. The question of who will drop off and pick up the children becomes a domestic negotiation among parents. For the first time in my life, I am facing this dilemma, and I couldn't be more proud to be part of a company and group that views this paternal moment in a natural, respectful, and understanding way.
