From Braga to the Algarve. team.it will be on "tour" to connect with remote employees.

With a remote-first philosophy, team.it has most of its employees working in different regions of the country, which makes face-to-face interaction between colleagues difficult. To address this, the tech company decided to schedule visits to various Portuguese locations, promoting initiatives that strengthen team connections with the company. Dubbed the "team tour," it will travel from north to south, starting on April 26. The first stop will be the district of Castelo Branco.

“Our sustainable corporate strategy includes remote work, as we want our employees to live and work from places where they feel best; however, this presents a significant challenge to strengthening bonds,” says Flávio Massano, CEO of team.it. “We realized that the solution could be having a mobile office that travels to where the team is, giving the majority of them the opportunity to interact face-to-face, for the first time, with colleagues from different departments.”

The team tour also aims to connect with communities, in coordination with local municipalities. In addition to meetings with companies and associations, the team.it crew will have an active presence at higher education institutions, showing students up close the work they do and the values they uphold. In the after-work period, they will also participate in volunteer activities promoted by local entities. All these initiatives come with a common purpose of contributing to territorial development.

“The establishment of teams in the interior allows for greater and faster sustainable development of those regions. This is a premise we not only believe in but also advocate: we ensure conditions for professionals to develop their careers and personal lives from the villages or towns where they are from, receiving the same salary as those working from major urban centers, and having the same career advancement opportunities,” says Flávio Massano.

“With the majority of our employees full remote, we decided to reduce the size of our offices by half. The savings we are making are being directed towards this initiative to connect with the entire team and the local communities where they are located,” he says.

The first stage of the team tour will start in Castelo Branco, where 12% of their employees live. On the first day, April 26, the tech company will be represented at NERCAB – Associação Empresarial da Beira Baixa, while the next day, they will visit the Escola Superior de Tecnologia. The last two days, April 28 and 29, will be spent between the Escola Superior de Gestão de Idanha-a-Nova and the Junta de Freguesia do Ladoeiro.

The twelve members of the tech company's management team will be on tour for a week each month, but other consultants are also invited to join. After Castelo Branco, team.it will visit Fundão and Covilhã, Algarve, Leiria, Porto, Coimbra, Aveiro, Braga, and Guimarães.

As children return to school and daycare, one of the issues that arises is the coordination between parents' work schedules and their children's school schedules. The question of who will drop off and pick up the children becomes a domestic negotiation among parents. For the first time in my life, I am facing this dilemma, and I couldn't be more proud to be part of a company and group that views this paternal moment in a natural, respectful, and understanding way.
